Live in Couple Job in Gloucestershire
We have a fantastic opportunity to work for a distinguished private family estate in the Cotswolds. They are seeking an exceptional live-in couple to fulfil the roles of House Manager and Housekeeper. This is a hands-on, service-led position suited to an experienced, dedicated, and discreet couple capable of delivering a seamless, high-end standard of household management. The ideal couple will be proactive, highly organised, and able to provide warm, unobtrusive support to the family and their guests.
Other staff employed include 2 Housekeepers, a Chef, Estate Manager and team of Gardeners.
House Manager duties:
- Oversee the smooth daily operation of the estate, ensuring discreet, efficient service at all times under supervision from the Estate Manager.
- Manage, lead, and support household staff, contractors, and part-time personnel.
- Maintain household schedules, budgets, inventories, and operational systems.
- Coordinate property maintenance, repairs, and external service providers, ensuring the buildings and grounds remain in immaculate condition.
- Plan and oversee events, dinners, and family gatherings, working closely with the Principals to understand preferences and expectations.
- Liaise with the family office, PA, or Estate Manager where applicable to ensure all household needs are anticipated and fulfilled.
- Oversee household security protocols and ensure safe running of the estate at all times.
- Assist with travel logistics, packing coordination, and preparations for arrivals and departures.
- Provide occasional driving duties, airport pickups, or errand running.
- Provide occasional catering when Chef is unavailable
Skills & Attributes
- Significant experience managing a private household or luxury hospitality operation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a positive, cohesive team environment.
- Professional, calm, and unflappable; able to multitask and problem-solve effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and high standards of discretion.
- Confident with budgets, scheduling, and household systems.
Housekeeper Duties:
- Deliver immaculate housekeeping across the main residence and associated buildings.
- Daily cleaning, deep cleaning schedules, and care of fine furnishings, antiques, surfaces, and artwork in accordance with best practice.
- Laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, and organisation of personal and household linens.
- Turn-down service, bedroom preparation, and guest-readiness for all areas of the home.
- Assistance with table service, informal meal preparation, and kitchen support as required.
- Purchasing household supplies, running errands, and maintaining inventories.
- Support with pet care if needed.
- Seasonal tasks such as opening/closing rooms, assisting with festive décor, and supporting estate-wide routines.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong background in high-end housekeeping within private households or boutique hospitality.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining the highest standards.

Start: ASAP
Accommodation: temporary accommodation will be provided locally until the renovations are completed. No pets.
Working week: 5 days a week to include weekends, as part of a rota
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 gross per annum, depending on experience
