Head Butler Job, Cotswolds
A large and formal private residence in the Cotswolds is seeking an experienced and highly professional Head Butler to oversee front-of-house operations. This is a part-time residence requiring flexibility around the principals’ schedule.
You will be supported by a long-standing Under Butler (4 years in post) and will work alongside an established household team including a large gardening team, two housekeepers, and a chauffeur.
Key Responsibilities:
Formal silver service and impeccable wine and beverage presentation
Planning, organising and executing shoot parties and formal luncheons
Overseeing table settings, service standards, and guest experience
Supervising and guiding the Under Butler
Coordinating with the wider household team to ensure seamless operations
Maintaining high standards of discretion, presentation, and professionalism at all times
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Butler or Senior Butler within a formal private household
Strong knowledge of wine, cellar management, and formal service etiquette
Experience organising shoot lunches and country house hospitality
Confident leadership skills with a collaborative approach
Impeccable presentation and attention to detail
Full driving licence (essential due to location)
