Live In Housekeeper Job, Knightsbridge
A private VIP family are seeking an experienced semi-formal Housekeeper to join their main residence, a split-level penthouse, in Knightsbridge, London. This family of 4 includes 2 teenage children and a small dog. The family travel for approximately 3.5 months of the year, during these times, the role will entail fewer working hours and more down time.
Duties will include working alongside another full-time, live-in Housekeeper to cover the following duties –
- Daily household cleaning as per rota/schedule. Cleaning, dusting, mopping, hoovering, polishing, changing of linen. Ensuring the property is always kept to the highest standard.
- Laundry and Ironing
- Wardrobe management. Includes care of luxury items, couture, and high-end materials. Working with this previously is preferred.
- Preparing principals luggage for travel.
- Unpacking and organisation of luggage during stays.
- Organisation and care of high-end dining sets and tableware.
- Manage inventories for delicate cutlery, crystals, tableware etc.
- Polishing silver.
- Knowledge of caring for luxury art pieces around home.
- Confident family style cooking, following recipes.
- Flower arranging experience preferred.
- Internet shopping for groceries and household items.
- Organising drop off and pick of dry cleaning,
- Liaising with other staff members to report any damages or faults with home equipment and/or appliances
The ideal candidate must work to a high standard and have experience working within a semi-formal household
Working days: 5 days per week when family in residence / reduced hours when family travel
Working hours: 10 hours per day on a shift basis (covering hours between 7am and 9pm daily)
The family are away for approx. 3.5 months of the year (during all school holidays, Christmas, Easter, and Summer. You will also be expected to take your own paid annual leave during these periods.
Accommodation: Spacious 2-bedroom apartment off Sloane Street (shared with second Housekeeper) which comprises; a private bedroom, a shared kitchen/living area, and a shared main bathroom. The apartment is just a short walk away from the main residence, all bills included.

Salary: £47,000 gross per year (negotiable for the right person) Equating roughly to £3000 per month net.
