Live-in Housekeeper / Cook – Andover

A valued client of Greycoat Lumleys, based in Andover, is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organised live-in housekeeper/cook for their beautiful five-bedroom family home. This is a long-term role suited to a switched-on individual who takes pride in maintaining a high standard within a private household.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the home from a housekeeping and culinary perspective. While you will be working alongside an estate manager and a gardener, you will be the sole housekeeper and must be confident managing your duties independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing hands-on, high-standard housekeeping throughout the property

  • Ensuring the home is kept consistently clean, tidy, and well-presented

  • Managing all laundry duties, including washing, ironing, and wardrobe care (excellent ironing skills are essential)

  • Preparing daily meals for the household, with the ability to cater for occasional small dinner parties, mainly at weekends

  • Planning menus and organising grocery shopping, placing orders, and managing deliveries

  • Maintaining household supplies and liaising with other staff as required

  • Driving for household-related duties when needed

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience working within private households

  • Extremely high attention to detail and a strong work ethic

  • Well-organised, efficient, and able to use initiative

  • Confident cook with experience preparing fresh, home-style meals

  • A driver is essential

  • Excellent, checkable references

Accommodation:

Bedroom and Bathroom in the main house until June when there will be a separate self-contained accommodation (house) provided on the estate. All bills are covered. 

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Hours: 40 per week, Monday  to Friday with occasional weekends
