Live in or Live out Housekeeper Job in Essex
A private household on a very remote Estate is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to join its long-standing housekeeping team. This is a predominantly housekeeping and cleaning role, suited to someone with exceptionally high standards and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate must be comfortable working within an established team and taking direction from senior members of staff.
The Estate is extremely remote, with no walkable towns or local amenities nearby. The candidate must therefore either live very locally or be happy to live in. A driver is essential to leave the property during time off, although driving is not required during working hours.
Duties to include:
- All general housekeeping duties to an exceptionally high standard
- Daily cleaning of the property, including deep cleaning
- Maintaining presentation and cleanliness throughout the Estate
- Working closely with a long-standing housekeeping team
- Following established systems and taking direction from senior staff
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household
- Potential to incorporate cooking or childcare over time once established in the role (not core duties)
They are looking for someone who is reliable, professional, and highly detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and pride in their work. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in private households, be comfortable in a team environment, and have excellent references. Flexibility is required to support the household outside of core hours when needed.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to be called upon outside of these core hours should the family require support.
