Head Gardener Job - Nr Knutsford Cheshire - start asap - live out - full-time - £35,00+ GPA
Our client is looking for an experienced Gardener to take on a role looking after a large private estate near Knutsford. This role will involve taking over the full management and maintenance of the garden, pulling together a maintenance plan for the estate, carrying out hands on gardening and keeping the grounds immaculate at all times. This role will develop and the Gardener will then be able to bring in an Assistant in the future.
The estate covers 40+ acres with much of this being open parkland / grass land with formal gardens around the house. Experience with formal lawn presentation essential.
General duties will include:
Lawn care and maintenance. Mowing, trimming edges, lawn striping on areas visible from the house.
Lawn Management including scarifying, aerating, re-seeding
Use of tractor for large lawn areas
Weed control on borders, driveway and pathways
Hedgerow trimming
Clearing leaves
Pruning small trees around the estate
General care of flowerbeds - composting, pruning, dead heading - replanting bedding plants
Jet washing across the site
Pond maintenance
Maintenance of the irrigation system
This will be a full-time role, Monday to Friday
