Live Out Housekeeper job in Kensington , London

A family of seven living in West London are looking for a top-notch, proactive Housekeeper willing to travel with them when they travel to their houses in the USA.

This would be 3-4 times per year from anywhere between a couple weeks to a month or so each time. Typically they travel during the summer months, over the Christmas holidays and the Easter school break.

You could take your holidays while the family is in the UK the remaining weeks of the year. 

The family is Mum,Dad and their five children aged between 3 and 10 years old and completing the family is a pet dog.

They employ 2 full time Nannies, 2 full time Housekeepers, and a full time PA who you will work alongside of.  

Duties to include:

  • Share Housekeeping duties to include cleaning, laundry and ironing 
  • Sorting the dry cleaning
  • Keeping the kitchen area clean and dealing with dishes
  • Running errands as needed
  • General tidying of the house
  • Tidying up the garden (sweeping up leaves mainly and not actual gardening) 
  • Watering plants
  • Taking out trash/recycling
  • Walking the dog 
  • Meeting tradespeople for various appointments at the house
  • Assist with childcare as needed
  • Prepare meals for the adults 1-2x per week
  • Overnight stays in London: occasionally stay at the house with the dog while they are traveling for short trips (like long weekends)
  • Travel with the family to the USA, which is typically 2-3 weeks at Easter holidays, ~4-5 weeks of the summer, and 2-3 weeks at Christmas/New Years

The ideal candidate for this role will have great attention to detail, enjoy working in a small team and be child and pet-friendly.

Closest station: Earl's Court

House: 5 storeys, 6 bedroom home

Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week - 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm (can be flexible for the right person) and when travelling 10-11 hours per day, still 5 days a week, but opportunity for a 6th day per week with mutual agreement

Salary: £market rate + for travel of a full week or more, they pay a travel bonus of £150 net per full week outside of London
