Live-out Housekeeper/Companion Job in Kensington & Yorkshire
A new client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking an experienced Live-out Housekeeper/Companion to support her across two private residences in Kensington and Yorkshire.
The principal is a lady in her sixties who lives independently between her five-bedroom London home and her five-bedroom country house in Yorkshire, spending approximately 50% of her time at each property.
The successful candidate will be required to accompany the principal to Yorkshire as part of the role. A comfortable accommodation (a private bedroom and bathroom) will be provided at the Yorkshire residence during these periods.
The principal is fully independent and drives herself. She has adult children who live across the country. Although she has some health considerations, no personal care is required.
She is seeking a long-term, committed candidate who is emotionally intelligent, patient, kind, and flexible in their approach. This position requires someone who can adapt sensitively to the principal’s evolving needs, while maintaining the utmost professionalism and discretion at all times.
The household is run to a high standard, and the successful candidate must take genuine pride in maintaining exceptional levels of cleanliness, organisation, and overall presentation.
Duties to include:
- Maintain all areas of both properties to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Laundry care and ironing to a high standard
- Making and changing beds
- Occasional simple cooking
- Accompanying the principal to appointments (including medical appointments) and between the London and Yorkshire properties
- Providing companionship and general day-to-day support
- General household organisation to ensure the smooth running of both homes
The ideal candidate will be experienced in private households and confident in managing two properties. You must be a careful and confident driver; however, please note that driving is only required in the countryside. A calm, patient, and caring nature is essential, along with flexibility for last-minute requests.
House: 5-bedroom house in Kensington and 5-bedroom country farmhouse in Yorkshire
Driving: Essential but only in the countryside - a car will be provided for work purposes
Working days and hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: £50,000 GPA (PAYE)
