Part time Housekeeper Job in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
A part-time housekeeper is needed for a large four-bedroom cottage that includes an annexe, swimming pool, gym, dining room, drawing room, and a spacious kitchen-dining area. This is not the client's main residence; the role primarily focuses on maintaining the property to a high standard and ensuring it is fully prepared for family visits. You will report to the House Manager when the family is in residence.
The home typically accommodates two adults, but during family visits, it hosts the parents and their six children, aged 9 to 17. While there are no childcare responsibilities, the candidate must be comfortable and friendly around children. Additionally, the property has two Labradors, so the candidate should be comfortable around dogs.
Responsibilities:
- General housekeeping and cleaning to a high standard
- Preparing the property ahead of family visits
- Ensuring all areas are well maintained, tidy and guest-ready
- Working independently and using initiative
- Supporting the House Manager when the family are in residence
The ideal candidate will have a proactive, can-do attitude with a strong ability to think on their feet and use their own initiative, be a driver with their own car, feel comfortable around dogs, and preferably have previous housekeeping experience in private households.
House: Large four bedroom cottage
Hours: This position requires 25 hours of work per week. The schedule is flexible, but occasional weekend work may be necessary.
Salary: £20 gross per hour PAYE or self-employed
