Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper Job

Part-Time Live-In or Live-Out Housekeeper Job in Ascot

A lovely family in Ascot is looking to hire an experienced, formal housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home. They have 10-year-old twins and a much-loved German Shepherd, so the role would suit someone who enjoys working in a lively household and is comfortable with both children and pets.

The family is seeking someone who can take overall responsibility for the upkeep of the house and the preparation of their evening meals, including setting and serving at the table. While previous cooking experience is valued, our client is very happy to provide training if required — what matters most is a genuine love of food, a willingness to learn, and a positive, can-do attitude. The family also has a Thermomix to make the cooking process simpler and more enjoyable.

The housekeeper will not be expected to manage everything alone, as the family already employs a cleaning agency who take care of the deep cleaning, as well as providing some additional support with laundry. This means the role is more focused on day-to-day housekeeping, organisation, and maintaining a welcoming home environment.

The ideal candidate will be warm, adaptable, and happy to slot into the family’s routine. They should love cooking, be relaxed yet professional, and enjoy being around children and animals. A flexible, teachable approach is essential, as is the ability to occasionally travel with the family (mainly to Italy and Switzerland) — a separate schedule will be arranged in those instances.

Duties to include:

  • General household cleaning and upkeep (deep cleaning handled by agency staff)

  • Preparing and cooking family dinners every evening, and serving at the table

  • Laundry and ironing (with some support from agency staff)

  • Feeding and caring for the family dog

  • Babysitting on occasion (additional salary provided if outside of normal hours)

  • House sitting when the family is away (particularly if the dog remains at home)

Accommodation: The family provides lovely private accommodation, consisting of a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette located above the barn.

House: The main property is a 4-bedroom cottage, with a barn used as a study and for occasional entertaining.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm.

Salary: £17 per hour for live-in, £20 per hour for live-out.

Vacancy number: 174119

Start: As soon as the right person is found.
