Live-out Sole Gardener Job, Gloucestershire
A returning client of ours is looking for a Gardener with a good knowledge of horticulture and will take ownership of the high-end manicured gardens and grounds within a 25-acre Estate in Gloucestershire near Cirencester.
The candidate will work closely with the on-site Estate Manager and will be willing to take instruction when required and equally work entirely independently the rest of the time.
This role would suit a candidate with the skills and mind set ready for a step up to take sole responsibility for a high-level garden and grounds maintenance; or equally suitable for a head gardener who wants no responsibility in people/ team management.
Duties:
Herbaceous perennials
Formal and Informal lawn care
Ornamental tree pruning
Irrigation systems and watering pots
Topiary
Orchards
Fruit and Veg propagation/production
Grounds maintenance - patio care, grit salting paths, mowing paddocks, chipping branches.
Competent in use of a range of hand and power tools, competent in use of a range of machinery - Chainsaw, Strimming, Knapsack sprayer, hedge cutter, mowers, pressure washer.
Weeding, pruning, transplanting, watering, deadheading, mowing and any other non related garden tasks
Swimming Pool and Tennis Court
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working alone day to day in their role but happy to be part of a wider team that may call upon them from time to time within the Principals country estate. Happy to work outside in all weather. Assistance with weekend events may be asked of you but with plenty of notice given.
You will be a strong communicator with great interpersonal skills that is approachable and enjoys their job role and level of responsibility.
Salary: £40k+ GPA Flexible for the right person
Days: Monday – Friday, 5 days a week
