Our client, a premium private members club, is currently seeking a skilled and reliable Sous Chef to support the leadership of a busy, high-standard kitchen. Key Details:
• Responsible for supervising Chef de Parties, Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters during service
• Hands-on role supporting the daily running of the kitchen

Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations
• Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen
• Ensure preparation is completed efficiently and to the required standards
• Maintain an organised and well-structured section during service
• Check, store, and rotate deliveries correctly
• Follow proper food storage, labelling, and stock rotation procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation across all kitchen areas
Food Quality & Service
• Prepare and deliver dishes to the required specification and presentation standards
• Maintain pace, consistency, and attention to detail during busy service periods
• Ensure dishes leave the pass correctly plated and aligned with kitchen standards
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team to maintain smooth service flow
• Support strong communication with the Front of House team throughout service
Team Support
• Assist the Senior Sous Chef in maintaining a positive and organised kitchen environment
• Guide and support junior chefs during service
• Encourage teamwork, respect, and strong communication within the brigade
• Support new team members in learning kitchen standards and systems
Stock & Organisation
• Assist with stock control and maintaining appropriate ingredient levels
• Monitor ingredient usage and minimise waste where possible
• Ensure fridges, dry stores, and storage areas remain well organised
• Assist with preparation for stock takes where required
Training & Development
• Continue developing personal cooking skills and technical knowledge
• Support training of junior chefs on dish specifications and kitchen procedures
• Maintain strong knowledge of ingredients, preparation methods, and menu items
• Share product knowledge with Front of House teams when required
Health & Safety
• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety
• Follow all HACCP procedures and kitchen health and safety regulations
• Ensure equipment is used safely and responsibly
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
Monthly Responsibilities
• Support the kitchen leadership team with monthly stock takes
• Assist with maintaining kitchen organisation and operational standards
• Contribute to maintaining food safety and hygiene documentation
Salary - £35 - 38k + Tronc estimate £10.5k = £45.5k - £48.5k
