Travelling Chef Role - Private family - UK, USA, Switzerland & Bahamas
A returning client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking a clean, organised and practical Household Cook/Chef to work with the family on a travelling basis. The family consists of the two Principals and 3 grown up children who come and go. “It is usually just my husband and I”.
The client rarely entertains for more than 4 people so the daily cooking demands are not over strenuous. “Working hours, this has to be flexible.. but we eat breakfast around 7, lunch around 1 dinner around 7.30 if there are no guests. If we have guests, which tends to be in the summer and winter time, then the times are a little different. There are often times where we don’t have lunch or dinner…so it is a little bit of a flexible job…some months like Xmas , August are harder other months very calm...”
Switzerland, the UK, the Bahamas and the USA is one of the main places of work and the client would be responsible for applying fro work permits/Visas in each location of work. The client has 6 different homes. As this is a permanent position for a travelling chef, this role is seeking someone unattached and able to travel constantly alongside the family.
Candidates must be able to drive and be responsible for the shopping daily. Candidates must not be smokers or heavy drinkers.
The client is self-described as meticulous and hygiene is incredibly important in each household. “I don’t want a cook who goes into the kitchen, cooks up a storm and then walks out leaving the other staff to clean it, in short he/she are in charge of the kitchen. We are an Italian family and we tend to eat very healthy. very plant based, Italian, not heavy, some in the family are gluten and or dairy free. love healthy vegan foods.”
The successful applicant would be solely responsible for health and hygiene within the kitchen and keeping an immaculate and orderly working area. Working knowledge of Mediterranean diets, plant base and vegetarian cuisine are important to the principal. The candidate would also need to take charge “in all the homes when we travel of the pantry, cold rooms, freezer rooms, and deep cleans at the end of each stay”
Salary: Salary: €4,000 - €4,500 NET per month
Accommodation: Is provided in each location either in a room or a staff apartment.
Annual leave: 25-30 Days per Annum
