Couple Job, Housekeeper and Caretaker – Co Cork, Ireland

Greycoat Lumleys are delighted to be seeking a Couple for a privately owned estate in a stunning location of County Cork, Ireland

This role will suit a Couple who want to experience the outdoors lifestyle and working in a very impressive property surrounded by local community and plenty to do as it is a tourist attraction.

The Couple will be primarily be caretakers, housekeeper and general maintenance for the estate working alongside other members of staff, some there full time, some part time and some when the Principals are in residence.  The Principals are in residence for short stays and up to 2 months in the summer.

The Couple must be professional with some experience preferred, hard working and flexible.  Though the preference is for a Couple with relevant experience, an entry level couple with the necessary aptitude will be considered.  The role my suit a Couple wishing to gain experience or a Couple travelling from overseas with a working visa.

Duties include: 

  • All aspects of general housekeeping – cleaning, dusting, mopping and hoovering – there are 3 properties an 8 bed/4 bed and 1 bed – it is very occasional they are all used

  • Laundry and ironing

  • Changing bed linen

  • Grocery shopping

  • Daily cooking (by arrangement with the family) 3 simple meals for Principals.  There will be a private chef when the Principals are in residence

  • Running errands, collecting and dropping guests to the airport (automatic car provided for work purposes)

  • Gardening, keeping clean court yards and terraces - there are full time gardeners

  • Cleaning cars and buggies

  • Motivated and able to spot what needs doing

  • Organisation and time management skills

  • An interest in boats and the water

  • Cleaning the boat house

  • Working with the head gardener and housekeeper, preparing the house for family visits and guests

  • Attention to detail 

Must be dog Friendly (one family dog)

Candidates should be non-smokers

Need for discretion and respect the family and guests privacy

Accommodation:  1 bedroom self-contained apartment, council tax is covered by the Principals

Travel expenses paid

Working days: 5 days per week and 6 days when the Principals and/or guests are in residence

The role is for a 12 month contract

Salary:  €60,000 GPA joint
