General Manager Job in the Caribbean

General Manager (Private Estate) Opportunity in the Caribbean 

Seeking a highly experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of a private estate the Caribbean. The ideal candidate will possess over 10+ years of experience in managing staff in private island or resort setting. The General Manager will ensure that the estate operates with the highest of standards while maintaining a private household atmosphere. Ideally only seeking candidates with Caribbean Island Experience, due to the complexities of running a private estate on a remote and isolated private estate in the Caribbean. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of employees

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that uphold the estate's standards

  • Ensuring the safety and privacy of the Family residents and their guests.

  • Ensure the upkeep, maintenance and repair of all estate facilities,

  • Manage household staff effectively

  • Supervise construction and renovation projects

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local service providers and vendors

  • Develop, monitor, and manage the estate budget

  • Coordinate and manage events

  • Handle private guest relations and inquiries

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience ideally with significant managerial experience in high-end properties or resorts.

  • A hands-on leader with proven experience in staff management

  • Highly organized with strong management and multitasking skills

  • Extensive knowledge of security systems and protocols

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in budget management and financial oversight.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Flexible schedule availability, with the expectation of being present after hours, on weekends and during peak activity periods as necessary

  • Outstanding verbally verifiable references 

  • Proficient in English

  • Valid passport and driver’s license
