Live in Couple Job in Surrey 

An experienced live-in Domestic Couple (Housekeeper/Cook & Groundsman/Maintenance/Handyman) is required to look after a 2nd residence for a returning client of ours. The client has recently bought the property and will be taking residence in July/August with renovation works due to be completed by summer 2027. The main property has 6 bedrooms with an additional 3 bed cottage on the estate. The estate lies within 15 acres of land.

The principal residences in London and travels frequently. The property will be mainly used by the principal at weekends and when family are visiting. 

Duties

  • General organisation and property management, with a proactive approach to scheduling and maintenance

  • Full housekeeping, laundry, and care of the home.

  • Preparing the house for the arrival of guests

  • Managing household supplies and ensuring the home is well stocked

  • Care of delicate items, handwashing, and wardrobe management/packing for trips etc

  • Family cooking as required (menus to be discussed and agreed).

  • Serving at table for occasional entertaining.

  • Assisting with planning and running of family events/parties

  • Occasional driving duties

  • Car washing, refuelling, and general security of the property.

  • Oversight of builders and tradespeople.

  • Administration and budget control, producing monthly budgets and account reporting

  • Managing and hiring staff, rotas, holidays/time in lieu, cleaning schedule, training as needed

  • Managing utility bills, liaising with utility providers, submitting readings

  • To assist with support/ general tasks at other family properties in London, as needed

  • Garden maintenance duties

  • Swimming pool maintenance

  • Handyman duties (minor repairs and basic DIY)

  • Security of the property, including CCTV surveillance; security and fire alarm monitoring / response

The ideal couple will be meticulous, hands on, proactive and hardworking. A competent cook is important.

Start date: ASAP

Drivers: at least one must be a confident driver

Working hours: 5 days a week to include weekends when the principal is in residence. Longer hours will be required when the principal is in residence. 

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 gross per annum, depending on skills and experience

Accommodation: 1 bedroom cottage attached to the property with a separate entrance. Dogs might be considered.
