Live In Housekeeper/cook Job in Truro, Cornwall
A lovely couple with grown-up children and a friendly dog are looking for an experienced hands-on housekeeper/cook to look after them and their large second home. They tend to visit the property for around 4 months of the year. The couple like to entertain and therefore require someone who would be happy to help and assist with dinner parties and events. on occasion. When they are alone visiting they prefer to have their privacy over the weekends. When the family are not in residence you will be required maintain the home and ensure that it is ready for the next visit. Notice will be given in between visits.
Duties to include:
- Cleaning, laundry, and ironing to a high standard
- Wardrobe management
- Packing and unpacking suitcases
- Meeting & greeting guests
- Serving at dinner parties
- Confident cook
- Other ad hoc duties as required
A driver with their own car is essential. We are looking for an all-rounder, someone who is confident in their abilities, who can work well alone without direction, dependable, and proactive - who takes pride in their work and is happy to be flexible (this is paramount to the role)
Accommodation: Beautiful 1 bedroom cottage separate to the property and grounds with garden, partners and pets cannot be accommodated
Hours: 40 hours, when the family are in residence more are required, although this time will be given back in lieu
Days: Monday to Friday when the family are not in residence, when they are in residence you may be needed to work over the weekends 2 days off during the week during this time
Salary: £35,000 GPA Depending on experience
