Live in OR Live out Housekeeper/Cook job near Paddington
We have a wonderful position for a professional, warm, dedicated Housekeeper / Cook to take care of a lovely Australian family. This is not their main residence however, they do spend some time in London throughout the Summer months (During polo season, Ascot, and Wimbledon) and over the Christmas break. When they do visit from time to time, they are usually here for no longer than 2 weeks at a time. It is property shared over 3 generations with the main principal (The Lady of the house), her daughter and her adult grandchildren.
They employ a dedicated Live in Butler who has been working for the family for over 30 years, you will be working closely with him to ensure the home and family are taken care of. They are looking to replace their beloved Housekeeper who was with them for over 20 years.
The ideal candidate for this role will have high standards with excellent attention to detail. They will also need to be proactive, self-starter, discreet and flexible.
Duties include but not limited to:
Cleaning to a high standard
Laundry & ironing
Turn down service.
Making beds and changing bed linen (the sheets are sent out)
Wardrobe management
Running errands and shopping
Small alterations and sewing (e.g. buttons sewing back up, etc.)
Keep the household stocked including the cleaning products
Cooking when the family are in residence - Lunch (protein and salad) and Dinner (Protein and vegetables)
Upkeep of the house in the family's absence
House: 4 bed with en-suite apartment (plus another guest 3 bed apartment which is currently being refurbished and will be used on an ad hoc basis)
Working Days and Hours:
When in Residence - Monday to Friday but with flexibility to work weekends and evening if needed ( 8am - 3pm and 6pm - 9pm )
When not in residence - Monday-Friday, 40hours per week with flexibility
Accommodation: Basement level, own bed and bathroom, shared living areas with the house manager
Salary: Negotiable
