Full-Time Wardrobe Specialist / Laundress Job – Private Country Estate, Cotswolds
A prestigious private household based on a private country estate in the Cotswolds is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Wardrobe Specialist / Laundress to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a senior-level wardrobe role requiring exceptional attention to detail, expert knowledge of luxury garment care, and the ability to manage and present extensive wardrobes to the highest standard. The successful candidate will oversee all clothing, footwear, and accessories for the Principals, ensuring everything is immaculate, well organised, and prepared in advance of daily requirements and travel.
Duties to include:
Garment care and laundry
Expert laundering, cleaning, steaming, pressing, and spot-treating of all garments, including delicate, luxury, and couture items
Confident identification and correct care of specialist fabrics including silk, cashmere, suede, leather, linen, lace, knitwear, and embellished pieces
Coordinating dry-cleaning services and tracking all items
Carrying out minor repairs, mending, and basic alterations, and liaising with tailors or specialist repairers when required
Regular inspection and preventative care to preserve garments and prolong their lifespan
Wardrobe management
Organising, cataloguing, and rotating seasonal wardrobes, including across multiple residences when required
Maintaining all wardrobes so they are tidy, well presented, and intuitively arranged
Ongoing checking and refreshing of clothing, footwear, and accessories
Managing footwear care including cleaning, polishing, weatherproofing, and arranging resoling or specialist repairs
Monitoring wear, damage, and items requiring replacement
Travel preparation
Full preparation and packing for domestic and international travel, including outfit planning where required
Creating packing lists and coordinating with household staff and travel teams
Managing unpacking and wardrobe setup at travel destinations when necessary
Stock management
Managing and replenishing personal stocks including toiletries, cosmetics, grooming products, medical supplies, and travel essentials
Monitoring expiry dates and stock rotation
Anticipating future needs and managing discreet purchasing proactively
Household integration
Working closely with other household staff including housekeepers, personal assistants, and estate management
Maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion at all times
Developing a strong understanding of the Principals’ preferences, routines, and personal style
Providing occasional assistance with personal shopping, gifting, or specialist procurement
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and confident working independently within a private household environment. You must demonstrate flexibility to meet the demands of the role, including seasonal workload changes and occasional travel.

Requirements:
Extensive experience in a similar role within a private household or luxury environment
Excellent knowledge of high-end garment care and specialist fabrics
High level of discretion and professionalism
Ability to anticipate needs and work with minimal supervision
Flexible approach to hours and travel
Full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS required
