Greycoat Lumleys’ Lodge Cooks have great organisational skills and an extensive knowledge of cooking with game, fresh fish and other locally sourced produce. We hand-pick our Lodge Cooks and select the very best, who are able to think on their feet and use their initiative. They must be able to assimilate into any surroundings, whether they are faced with a state of the art kitchen to work in, or a small, little used, family space.
Lodge Cooks generally have a sound knowledge of sporting, country ways and understand that sporting lodges are often in remote locations, out of reach of local supermarkets and mobile phone signals. Lodge Cooks have to be flexible and used to dealing with challenges, such as last minute changes in the party size, varying timings, different dietary requirements of guests and so on.
