To make things interesting, perhaps you may want to carve a different pumpkin from the traditional orange one (known as a gourd general).

From our experience, here are some pumpkins you may want to grab your hands on and stand out from the rest:

Blue Hubbard

This bluish greenish pumpkin is medium sweet in taste with fine texture. These interesting specimens can weigh up to 20 pounds so will definitely stand out from the traditional ones. A helpful tip, if cooking in the oven, is to make sure you poke a few holes into the Blue Hubbard before cooking as it has been known to explode!

Crown Prince

This pumpkin got its name because of its crown, which grows on its fruit. The surface comes in light blue or white with its flesh all orange. A single pumpkin can feed up to 8 people and can be stored for up to 3 months.

Baby Boo

This pumpkin has a beautiful white coloured glow that turns yellow when ripe. Perfect size for ornamental display and easy to grow. however, if you are thinking about growing one now you will miss this Halloween as it takes 85 days to develop in your garden.
